The Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Projects (ECCLPs) Executive Committee and the UC Irvine School of Education are launching initiatives focused on the advancement of PK-12 climate and environmental justice literacy through research, teaching and learning, and community partnerships.
On September 15, 2022, the (re)launch of ECCLPs was announced at a UC Irvine event that brought together key stakeholders who may wish to engage, support and continue to advance new UC-CSU climate and environmental justice literacy initiatives.
About the Event
Thank you to those who were able to join us for an inspiring reception and immersive experience that highlighted and showcased the great work of students, educational leaders, indigenous voices, and community organizations engaged in climate and environmental justice literacy, in addition to UC, CSU and government leadership. This event will launch new UC-CSU initiatives that will focus on the advancement of PK-12 climate and environmental justice literacy through research, teaching and learning, and community partnerships.

About ECCLPs
ECCLPs is an innovative UC-CSU systemwide partnership that seeks to bring together key stakeholders in the field of climate and environmental literacy, justice and action to advance PK-12 teaching and learning, research and community partnerships. In 2019, the Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Project and Summit Steering Committee published a report with recommendations for university systems to achieve our collective mission of graduating all of California's high school students to be informed decision-makers through climate and environmental justice literacy. These are graduates who will have deep knowledge of the issues and are well-positioned as the drivers of culturally relevant community solutions. The report was showcased at a launch event at UCLA in December 2019.
