About Innovations in Sustainability Education
Supported by The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) ECCLPs network, Innovations in Sustainability Education (ISE) is a peer-reviewed journal, publishing high-quality, original research. This new journal is a forum for academics and practitioners to share research, practices, and initiatives that foster Climate and Environmental Literacy within educational contexts.
ISE Core Principles
connecting research and practice to engage California educational stakeholders in a collective call to leverage education as a catalyst for climate action
fostering hope & solidarity in PK-12 education.
ISE is currently seeking submissions that connect to at least one of the following themes:

Interdisciplinary perspectives on climate and environmental literacy across California’s PK-12 learning.

Action and civic engagement as part of environmental and climate change literacy education.

Enhancing preservice and/or in-service teachers’ confidence in teaching environmental concepts and principles in their curriculum
-
PK-12 activities and projects related to current issues in climate and environmental literacy.

Peer Review
Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editors, it will then be anonymously peer-reviewed by at least two independent, anonymous experts.
Open Access
This journal is available online to the reader "without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself".

Structure: Your paper should be compiled in the following order: title; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, relevant literature, materials or methods as appropriate, results, discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references; appendices (as appropriate). Your manuscript should be anonymized. You should also submit a separate cover sheet that includes identifying author information.
Manuscripts should be 3,000-7,000 words, excluding references, figures, tables, and appendices.

You are responsible for obtaining permission to reuse any third-party material in your article. While short excerpts of text and certain other materials are generally allowed for purposes such as criticism or review, this is typically limited and does not require formal permission. However, if you intend to include copyrighted material not covered by these exceptions, you must secure written permission from the copyright holder before submitting your paper.
When publishing open access, the author (or the copyright owner, if different) retains copyright by signing an author publishing agreement, which grants ECCLPs the right to publish the article's Version of Record.
