Dear ECCLPs Supporters,
We are excited to announce that we are now seeking 45 committee members to contribute to our new initiative focused on PK–12 climate and environmental literacy, justice, and action through research-based approaches for climate resilience and solutions!
Recruitment Announcement: Committee Membership
We are seeking 15 committee members for three committees (45 members total) that will focus on: 1) research; 2) PK–12teaching and learning; and 3) community-based partnerships. Higher education faculty, staff, and graduate students, PK–12 educators, and individuals from community-based organizations involved in teacher education, climate and environmental literacy, research and evaluation, sustainability, environmental justice, civic engagement, and Indigenous knowledge may be interested in these compensated roles that require a minimum of 15 hours annually.
Dr. Kelley Lê, Executive Director, ECCLPs served as a panelist with Dr. Mike Kuperberg, Executive Director, U.S. Global Change Research Program and Dr. Gavin Schmidt, Director, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, moderated by Dr. Nora Savage, Program Director, National Science Foundation, to discuss measuring the impact and influence of Nano4EARTH.
The panel addressed key actions and innovation efforts to significantly reduce carbon emissions and Dr. Lê advocated for the education sector to be a priority in these goals as an untapped resource for climate resilience. Over 400 individuals attended the hybrid two-day event in Washington, DC that focused on nanotechnology and the climate crisis.
Call to Action: Share Your Climate Story
In collaboration with Change Narrative, we invite you to submit your climate story in the form of a written narrative, artwork, or poetry piece.We'll begin posting submissions next month! Please feel free to share Jothsna Harris' call to action with your networks, especially students!

Invest in Climate Literacy, Justice, and Action
A gift to this UC–CSU initiative is an investment in the partnerships and strategies that will educate all of California’s high school graduates to be literate in climate and environmental justice issues and solutions.
